  • Talked about & looked at a Galilleo Thermometer. How does it work? Use your basic knowlegde of Chemistry. Wrote & HANDED IN a journal entry about it.
  • Our last unit contains a lot of review from other units, & the two field trips we went on this year.

  • Wrote a journal entry about our field trip. Even though it was snowing, wasn't it better than having lunch in the hub?
  • Did a Space Quiz on Section 4.0.
  • Wrote "what we learned in space", stapled that to our "what we know about space" and "what we wonder about space" sheets and put the whole thing in our journals.
  • Biological Diversity Title page: Due Wednesday. The usual format is expected.

  • HOMEWORK: do sia9 p278 #1-8. Remember to format your assignment properly. We have already answered most of these questions, if you have trouble with these questions you need to pay me a visit & get it sorted out.
  • Talked about our POTENTIAL field trip to Kananaskis. It will be by INVITE only. Please think about your behaviour in the classroom & in the hallway. How do you treat others? Teachers? Classmates? Are you respectful & responsible? If you are not handing in work, & not being the model student, person, & citizen, you will not be invited to go on the field trip & will have an assingment to complete at school for that day.

Today in SCIENCE we:
  • Got vocabulary #22
  • Did current events. It is your responsibility to be ready.
  • Reviewed our quiz from last day. Where did you go wrong? Where did you go right?
  • Wrote a journal entry about our study strategies for Wednesday's Quiz.
  • Did the give it a try activity on sia9 p158. Can you write a reaction for these chemicals? Handed it in.
  • Got alot of work back. Make sure it goes in the right place. Are you up to date?
  • Worked on sia9 p162 #1-6, p165 #1-4, p170 #1-8. Yes you need to write down the question.
  • You did not have your homework checked today. You will on Wednesday.

  • Did current events. BE READY.
  • Did a quiz, wrote a reflection that included a HYPOTHESIS about the mark we would get. Were given 3 minutes to review our answers using our notes & textbook. Got the quiz back. BRING YOUR QUIZ TO CLASS ON MONDAY.
  • Handed in our homework from Tuesday.
  • READ & UNDERSTAND section 4.0 about chemical reactions.
  • Do a KWL chart about matter & chemical change.

  • Remember you should have AT LEAST TWO current events done for this term.
  • How do we follow the format for current events?
  • Reviewed some dates: when does term 2 end?
  • Handed in our ionic/molecular bonds work.
  • Reviewed some of our questions.
  • Worked on sia9 p153-154 ayl #1-15. You should have completed AT LEAST 7 (seven) questions in class that leaves 8 for homework. Four tonight, four tomorrow night.
  • Got some work back. What are the sources of a very serious condition known as "marking rage"?
  • If I was you, I would review sections 1, 2, & 3 of our Matter & Chemical change unit. In never hurts to be prepared for a pop quiz!
